As a seasoned small business investor we won't forget how important your employees, your legacy and your clients are to you.
For Small Business Owners
What does a small business partnership look like?
We invest in small businesses where owner/operators are seeking an exit from day-to-day operations. Line 5 Capital provides leadership to backfill the departing owner, liquidity at the time of the transaction and the ability to realize value on the future growth of the company.
We also ensure your employees jobs will be protected, your clients will be taken care of and your legacy will remain intact. We understand that this business is like one of your children – sometimes your favorite.
How we do it?
Before closing we’ll partner together to define the necessary attributes for a future CEO’s success. Line 5 Capital will source candidates from a proprietary veteran talent pool. After closing, we’ll collaborate on interviewing and selecting the right veteran. We’ll explicitly focus on soft skills, cultural fit and hard skills capacity. Subsequently we’ll train the future leader together providing the hard skills and details necessary to operate your business. Line 5 and you will both act as mentors and guides during this process.
Why veterans for small businesses?
The US military, particularly high intensity communities within the military, represents the best leadership training laboratory in the world; lessons learned there can be applied anywhere. The leaders emerging from special operations and fighter pilot units have demonstrated grit. They possess soft skills and tenacity that will serve them well in the small business world. However, these veterans can lack the hard skill necessary to run a specific business as well as the financial vocabulary needed to navigate the business to success. These are precisely the skills we can train to.
Your company deserves a small business investor who understands your challenges and is willing to do the work necessary to provide exceptional leadership. The small business world presents leadership challenges that are more about people than financial engineering – this is exactly where the strength of the most elite veterans lies.
